True North Yachts recently announced the debut of its True North 34 Outboard Express. The 34 OE combines the classic look, rough-weather performance, spacious interior and rugged construction of a Down East cruiser with the efficiency, speed, maneuverability and shallow draft that twin 250-horsepower outboard motors provide. It also features an open concept/galley-up interior and a long list of Adventure Options.

The 34 features a SCRIMP vacuum-infused hull and deck with end-grain balsa coring and high-strength multi-axial glass reinforcements. It carries a 5-year structural warranty and a 10-year blister warranty. Transom deadrise is 16 degrees, with an amidships deadrise of 22 degrees.

The contour-shaped galley is to starboard, aft of the helm, and features Hi-Macs solid surface countertop in a choice of 6 colors, a custom-molded sink with overboard drain, hot and cold pressure faucet with pivoting spigot, a 12V DC refrigerator, a single-burner electric stove, drawers, storage lockers and a microwave. All surfaces are molded fiberglass and/or Formica.

Belowdecks features include a large V-berth with filler to convert to an oversized double berth, white laminate bulkheads with satin-varnished teak trim, starboard side locker with drawers, a hanging locker, shelf storage and a Vacuflush marine toilet with 28-gallon holding tank.

Another nifty feature of the 34 OE is the Optimus 360 Joystick controller, which greatly simplifies docking and navigating through congested marinas and waterways. With the Optimus system, the boat can move forward, backward, diagonally, sideways and rotate on its own axis.
