EPISODE 9: Moosehead Lake, ME

In this freshwater episode of New England Boating TV, co-hosts Parker Kelley and Tom Richardson head for the North Woods of Maine and beautiful Moosehead Lake. After checking into the lovely Greenville Inn, the pair head off in search of outdoor adventures—and they don’t have to look far!

Among the activities featured in this action-packed show is a whitewater rafting trip on the Kennebec River with Moxie Outdoor Adventures, as well as a fly-fishing drift boat trip with local guide Matt Levine.

Parker and Tom also enjoy lunch at Kelley’s Landing on Moosehead Lake, and dinner at Maynard’s Restaurant and lodge in Rockwood.

Mark Gilbert Jr. of the Moosehead Marina takes Tom and Parker on boat tour under the monolithic presence of Mount Kineo, and explains some things boaters should know about Maine’s largest lake.

The co-hosts get to know the lake even better on an overnight camping excursion to Farm Island, which features free, state-maintained wilderness sites for boaters to enjoy.

Also in the episode is a moose safari to a remote pond with Northwoods Outfitters, a seaplane tour with pilot Rodney Folsom, a look at the restored steamboat Katahdin, and a walking tour of Greenville.

After watching this episode, you’ll want to hitch up your boat and see this beautiful area for yourself!
