Visiting the Beetles

On Tuesday, February 8, I stopped by the Beetle Boat Shop on Thatcher Lane in Wareham, Massachusetts. While the crew was preparing for the Cape Cod Boat Show this weekend in Hyannis, they were also busy with several other projects. The venerable shop is celebrating its 90th anniversary of building traditional wooden catboats by filling orders for 6 more.

All of the Beetle Cats are built on the original jig using traditional materials and methods. A more complete story about this remarkable company will be forthcoming at Boatinglocal. Stay tuned!
