Westport, CT, Polar Plunge Raises $100K

TheHour.com: Several hundred people were “freezin’ for a reason” but with warm hearts Saturday afternoon [March 9] to raise funds for the Special Olympics of Connecticut.
Approximately 500 Penguin Plungers from around Fairfield County dove into the icy waters at Compo Beach, raising more than $100,000, according to organizers. The day was warm and sunny, but the water temperature was a chilly 43 degrees as of plunge time at 1:00 p.m.
