Whaling Museum to Stage Scenes from Essex Disaster

The Whaling Museum & Education Center in Cold Spring Harbor, NY, is will present select scenes from the Nathaniel Philbrick book, In the Heart of the Sea, the story of the whaleship Essex that was sunk by a sperm whale. The performance will take place Sunday, Dec. 27, and Saturday, Jan. 9, and will Staged “in the round” inside an authentic 30’ whaleboat, built in an 1800s shipyard in Setauket. The boat is fully equipped with its original gear.
