IndependentRI.com: Wondering what that sound heard in the middle of the night was from your sloop on Narragansett Bay? Chances are, a few others are in the same boat.

Members of the boating community and others will get an opportunity to learn about some odd species found in Narragansett Bay during a discussion led by Dave Beutel, aquaculture and fisheries coordinator for the state Coastal Resources Management Council, at the Wickford Yacht Club on Feb. 12, 2015. Beutel will discuss creatures he has found throughout Rhode Island waters, focusing specifically on the bay.

During the discussion, Beutel will not only focus on why each animal is unique, but also will play recordings of the underwater sounds that many of the animals make.
