Woods Hole Model Boat Show This Weekend

Model Boat Show (2010). Tables full of the sleekest, fastest, and loudest leisure boats in the water today.

Over 150 exquisitely crafted model boats will be on display this weekend at the Woods Hole Model Boat Show on Cape Cod.

Mike Santos with the Beetle Cat Model to be raffled off. The model is scaled at 3/4 inch to 1 foot ratio. It is complete with canvas deck and blocks in the rigging. Tickets are $3 (or 2 for $5) and can be purchased any time during the show.

The show, which has grown into a weekend-long event filled with lectures and model-boat races and demonstrations, is fun for adults and kids alike, and a great way to kick off the 2011 boating season.

This year’s show will feature a special tugboat exhibit, radio-controlled model-boat races, and model boats for kids to make and race.

Model Boat Regatta races will be held on Saturday and Sunday mornings in Eel Pond.

Race Times:

  • Models 50″ and over: Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-Noon
  • Models under 40″: Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – Noon


  • Adult: $12
  • Families: $25
  • Children over 6: $5

Tickets can be purchased on the day of the show at 573 Woods Hole Road and Community Hall (just past the drawbridge on Water Street).
