York River Management Plan Nears Completion
October 19, 2017
Seacoast Online: The work of the York River Wild and Scenic Study Committee is heading into its final year, and plans are to have a watershed management plan before voters for their approval in the fall of 2018.
In a presentation Monday night, coordinator Jennifer Hunter and committee chairman Chuck Ott brought the Board of Selectmen up to speed on the work of the committee, which has involved the commission of several studies as well as considerable outreach to the public.
The two most visible projects of the committee have been a study of the migratory fish and fish habitat on the York River, which drew volunteers from York High School; and an archaeological study of the Punkintown area of Eliot, which drew many volunteers including Traip Academy students.
