York River Paddlers Will Not Face Access Fee

Seacoast Today reports that the town of York, Maine, has decided not to impose a fee on paddlers who wish to access the York River.

Concerns over parking and shore access overuse, as well as congestion in the harbor, prompted the usage-fee proposal. However, after heated resistance to the proposed fees, the town has decided to study the issue further to gather better data on paddler use of the river and harbor.
