August 8, 20243 Injured After Boat Strikes Bridge Stanchion in Boston Harbor
Three fishermen were injured Tuesday morning, August 6, when their 25-foot center console struck a stone stanchion that once supported the former Long Island Bridge in Boston Harbor off Quincy. Judging by damage shown in video footage of the boat following the crash, the vessel appeared to have hit the structure bow-on at a high rate of speed.
Responding to the scene were Boston police and fire boat crews, who pulled the men from the water and transported them to area hospitals. All three were reported to be in stable condition. Their boat, which did not sink, was towed to shore.
