Boater Dies After Vessel Capsizes in Massachusetts

A person died after a boat capsized off a popular Massachusetts beach over the weekend.

According to Massachusetts State Police officials, a boat capsized off Nantasket Beach in Hull, Massachusetts at around noon on Saturday, August 9.

Coast Guard crews and members of the Massachusetts State Police Marine Unit responded to the scene along with members of the Hull police and fire departments.

Rescue crews pulled the person from the water and performed CPR until the person was taken to the hospital.

Officials said the person later died. The identity of the individual has not yet been released.

State police and Coast Guard officials said it appears no other individuals or boats were involved in the incident.
