: Police Search For Missing Boater On Merrimack River

Police and fire crews are currently searching the Merrimack River for a missing boater.

On Wednesday, December 3, at roughly 8 a.m., police and fire officials in Newburyport, Massachusetts received a report of a person in the Merrimack River.

According to witnesses, a person was seen clinging to the side of a small skiff in the river.

First responders located the boat drifting in the river and are actively searching for the occupant.

Newburyport Police and Fire, State Police, the U.S. Coast Guard, and other area mutual aid crews have responded to the scene and are searching.
