Fishing Westport, Massachusetts
April 30, 2026Hyannis Marina in Hyannis, Massachusetts delivers the rare combination of deep-water access, full-service amenities, and walkable village charm that makes it a perennial favorite among visiting boaters.
This resort-style marina set in the heart of Cape Cod’s busiest harbor offers one of the most convenient transient stops in southern New England, making it popular among boaters cruising between islands or looking for a comfortable home base to explore the Cape.
The harbor’s depth and protection make it suitable for everything from day sailors to large motor yachts, with approach and dockside depths around 16 feet, accommodating even deep-draft vessels. With more than 180 slips and capacity for vessels up to 200 feet, Hyannis Marina regularly hosts cruising yachts, sportfishing boats, and megayachts alike. Daily rates range from $5/foot for boats up to 30 feet to $7/foot for boats between 31 and 59 feet and all the way up to $12/foot for vessels over 120 feet. See the marina’s transient dockage page for more information.
Fuel is readily available with high-speed pumps and volume discounts, a welcome perk for cruisers making longer coastal or island passages.
Hyannis Marina’s full suite of amenities include a large harborside swimming pool, courtesy cars for provisioning or exploring, private showers, modern laundry facilities, and Wi-Fi. They have a full-service repair and marine parts department, and a boaters’ discount store. For groups, the marina can even arrange clambakes, lobster dinners, and special events, making it appealing for visiting yacht clubs and rendezvous cruises.
The marina also has two onsite restaurants and bars. Trader Ed’s features fresh seafood, beautiful views of the water, and fun tropical vibes. Tugboats is a seafood restaurant acclaimed for superior dishes at reasonable prices. It is often rated as one of the best outside dining locations on all of Cape Cod.
One of the biggest draws for transient boaters is the marina’s location. From the marina, it’s a short walk to the area’s lively downtown, where visiting boaters will find beaches, shops, restaurants, and nightlife.
History buffs can visit the nearby John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum, which celebrates the Kennedy family’s deep ties to Cape Cod. Also nearby is the Cape Cod Maritime Museum, where exhibits highlight the region’s rich seafaring heritage.
