Alert: Narragansett Bay East Passage Closure
July 13, 2024

Narragansett Bay boaters should be aware that portions of the East Passage, from Gould Island to the Pell Bridge, will be temporarily closed this Saturday morning (July 13) from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. to allow for the annual Save The Bay fundraising swim. Boating traffic in the West Passage, west of Jamestown, will not be affected. Questions: call (401) 272-3540.
The Save The Bay Swim is the environmental group’s largest fundraising event. This year, nearly 300 participants will attempt to cross from the Naval War College in Newport to Potter Cove in Jamestown in support of the nonprofit’s mission to protect and enhance Narragansett Bay and its watershed.
