Crews Douse Boat Fire In Mount Hope Bay
All passengers onboard a boat that caught fire on Mount Hope Bay Sunday were able to escape unharmed.
According to Coast Guard officials, they received a report of a boat that was on fire in Mount Hope Bay near Bristol, Rhode Island on the afternoon of Sunday, August 17.
The operator of the 44-foot boat reportedly grounded the vessel after discovering the engine room had caught fire.
Coast Guard crews and members of the Bristol Fire Department responded to the boat, which was located in a shallow area that fire officials said was difficult to reach.
Fire crews extinguished the fire while Coast Guard crews worked to contain pollutants and prevent them from leaking into the water.
No injuries were reported.
