“Ogunquit” translates to “beautiful place by the sea” in the language of the Abenaki, who hunted and fished the local waters until the area was settled by Europeans in 1641.
Dockage, Moorings & Service: Town of Ogunquit (207) 646-2136: Short-term tie-up (two hours max) is available along the town wharf on a first-come, first-served basis for $20 per hour. Overnight stays are possible on the two town moorings for $60 per night, reservations required. Maximum stay is three nights.
Launch Ramp: Footbridge Boat Launch (Ogunquit River), Footbridge, Ocean Street off Route 1. Paved ramp for launching small boats and not usable at low tide. Passage beneath the bridge is restricted at high tide. Larger boats can launch in nearby Wells Harbor.
Anchorages: There is no approved anchorage inside Perkins Cove or the Ogunquit River.

The Marginal Way: Stroll along this scenic 1.5-mile walking path that skirts the rugged coast of Ogunquit and offers spectacular views.
