Welcome to Kettle Cove, Buzzards Bay
BOATERS IN THE BUZZARDS BAY AREA WHO ARE LOOKING FOR A GREAT SPOT TO TAKE THE FAMILY FOR THE DAY SHOULD CHECK OUT KETTLE COVE, ON THE NORTH SIDE OF NAUSHON ISLAND IN THE ELIZABETH ISLANDS.
THIS COVE IS ONE OF THE FEW SPOTS IN THE PRIVATELY OWNED ELIZABETHS WHERE THE PUBLIC IS ALLOWED TO GO ASHORE.
The beach that skirts the cove is small, but features lovely white sand and clear water that invites snorkeling and swimming. Small boats can pull right up to the beach as long as they keep clear of the scattered rocks, but larger vessels will need to anchor just offshore. Kettle Cove is well protected from southerly winds, which makes it a great spot during the summer. Just be sure to heed the signage and not wander inland. Oh, and be aware that there are no public restrooms here.
