Massachusetts Begins Spring Trout Stocking

Good news for trout fishermen in Massachusetts: The Bay State has officially begun its spring trout stocking program.

Crews with the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife stocked their first trout of the season on Tuesday, March 17. They said they started with bodies of water in southeastern Massachusetts.

Officials said they will be stocking trout in more than 450 lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams in 264 Massachusetts towns this spring.

Anglers can follow their progress and learn which bodies of water have recently been stocked using an interactive map on the Fisheries and Wildlife website.
