Mayflower II To Sail For First Time In 5 Years

The Mayflower II will set sail next month for the first time in five years.
According to officials with Plimoth Patuxet Museums, the replica of the original Mayflower will be undersail in Cape Cod Bay on August 8 as part of celebrations to commemorate 250 years since the start of the American Revolution.
Prior to that event, the ship in Plymouth, Massachusetts will be closed to visitors from August 4 to 8 due to sea training exercises and a Coast Guard inspection. People will be able to view the ship under sail in Cape Cod Bay during this time in the late mornings and early afternoons.
The Mayflower II was last undersail in New England during her homecoming in 2020 following a restoration. Since then, the historic tall ship was named on the National Register of Historic Places and has been welcoming hundreds of thousands of guests annually at State Pier in Plymouth.
