The search for a missing fishing boat off Cape Cod has reached a tragic conclusion as Coast Guard crews have discovered the sunken vessel with two bodies onboard off Eastham, Massachusetts.
Coast Guard officials confirmed on Wednesday, June 11, that they’d found the vessel. Relatives have reportedly confirmed the bodies onboard are of the boat’s captain, Shawn Arsenault, 64, and the captain’s girlfriend, Felicia Daley, 54. The sunken vessel was reportedly discovered by a recreational boater shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, June 10, Coast Guard officials announced they were searching for the missing fishing vessel SEAHORSE, a white, 30-foot boat that as of Tuesday afternoon was two days overdue.
Arsenault and Daley left a slip at Rock Harbor Marina in Orleans Sunday morning to go clamming.
The vessel was last known to be fishing in the vicinity of Target Ship Wreck near Eastham in the Cape Cod Bay. A cell phone ping had placed the vessel two miles off of Chatham. Arsenault was reportedly seen discarding objects off the side of the boat that day.
