Cobia’s brand-new 261 CC is a second-generation hard-core center console fishing boat that’s also family-friendly.
The folks who design and build boats for Cobia and its sister brands spend a lot of time on the water. They listen to their customers, and they sweat the details. No wonder the 261 CC offers a pair of forward-facing bow lounges, a forward-entry head with china toilet, and a wide stern seat with backrest.
But the seats go away when it’s time to head offshore, where Cobia’s attention to design and construction help the 261 CC eat up seas. Handholds are in all the right places and there is secure stowage for gear and the day’s catch. Other standard fishing features include a hardtop with outrigger mounts, a rocket launcher, and a large transom live well.
Back at the dock, it’s easy to check plumbing and through-hulls inside the electrically articulated vertical hatch that holds the transom seat. Twin Yamaha 200’s provide efficient cruise at 3000-4500 rpm (20-35 mph), with a top speed in the 50’s.
