Pilot Boat Runs Aground in Cape Cod Canal

A pilot boat runs aground on the Cape Cod Canal.

A commercial pilot boat based in Boston ran aground Thursday, October 24, in the Cape Cod Canal, a few hundred feet west of the Cape side of the Bourne Bridge.

The incident occurred at around 2:00 PM and no injuries were reported. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is investigating the incident. No information was provided on what caused the grounding. Also responding to the scene was MA Department of Environmental Protection and Bourne Fire & Rescue.
