Rhode Island anglers looking to improve their fly tying skills or stock their fly box for spring can take advantage of an upcoming fly tying workshop.
Rhode Island Fish and Wildlife’s Aquatic Resource Education program will host the three-session workshop this month.
The workshop will be held every other Thursday at the Louttit Library in West Greenwich. The first session is November 20, the second December 4, and the third December 18.
Fly-tying volunteers from United Fly Tyers of Rhode Island and Trout Unlimited will be available to help beginner and intermediate fly tyers with options to learn how to tie freshwater or saltwater flies.
Families with children over 10 years of age are welcome. All fly-tying materials and equipment will be provided.
Fly tyers can attend one session or all three. The cost is $5 per person per session.
Pre-registration is suggested but walk-ins are welcome.
