The town of Hingham, on the south shore of Massachusetts, is ideally situated for boaters seeking convenient access to Boston Harbor, the beautiful World’s End reservation, and Boston Harbor Islands National & State Park
Dockage, Moorings & Service: Town of Hingham(781) 741-1450: Offers moorings in Hingham Harbor and off World’s End. A dinghy dock is located at Town Docks, adjacent to Bare Cove Marina.
Hingham Shipyard Marinas(781) 749-2222: Large, full-service facility on Hewitts Cove offering more 500 slips and 100 moorings and a wide range of services, including transient dockage and moorings, fuel dock, haul-out, engine repair, ice, water, electric, and much more. Hourly dockage available for boaters who wish to visit Shipyard Village.
Steamboat Wharf Marina(781) 925-0044: Located in nearby Hull, behind World’s End on the Weir River, Steamboat offers dockage for transients interested in visiting Hingham.
Launch Ramp: A free municipal boat ramp with floats and parking is located adjacent to the Town Landing on Otis Street (Route 3A), directly on Hingham Harbor. The ramp is not usable at low tide, however, and the parking lot fills quickly on weekends.
A large public ramp with all-tide access and floats is located on River Street in Weymouth, on the Back River. Daily fee to launch and park. Attendant on duty.
Anchorages: Boaters may be able to find room to anchor outside the channel in designated mooring areas “A” off Crow Point and north of Ragged and Sarah Islands.
In the Weymouth Back River, a small anchorage is available along Eastern Neck and opposite Stodder Neck.

The Fresh Market(781) 740-2066: Large, upscale grocery store near Hingham Shipyard Marinas. Offers local produce, meat, prepared meals, wine, beer, and more.

Things To Do: Boston Harbor Islands National & State Park(617) 223-8666: Comprises more than two dozen islands spread throughout Boston Harbor offering a range of recreational activities, from fishing and boating to camping and educational events. Reservations are required for camping on the islands. Bumpkin, Spectacle, Grape, and Peddocks have docks for dropping off passengers and gear.
World’s End(781) 740-7233: This 251-acre peninsula owned by the Trustees of Reservations offers scenic walking trails and great views of the Boston skyline.
Old Ship Church(781) 749-1679: Historic church established in 1681 and considered the oldest continuous religious meetinghouse in the nation. The lofty interior suggests an inverted ship’s hull.
The Old Ordinary(781) 749-7721: Former tavern built in 1702, and the Old Derby Academy on Main Street, are both owned by the Hingham Historical Society.
