Boat Services:
There are no marinas, transient slips, or transient moorings in Stony Creek. Visiting boaters must either anchor or trailer their boats to a local ramp. Dinghies may be left at the town dock, where the depth is around three feet MLW. The nearest fuel, transient dockage, and marine services are in New Haven and Branford Harbor.
Launch Ramp:
The small ramp on Stony Creek Harbor is suitable for launching small boats and kayaks. Parking is limited, especially in summer. A larger ramp can be found in downtown Branford, off Goodsell Point Road. It offers parking for roughly 50 vehicles.
Anchorages:
Anchoring is possible anywhere inside the harbor, outside the main channel, and throughout the Thimble Islands. A good spot is west of G C “1” in seven feet of water. There’s less roll in the eastern end, but be careful of underwater cables, which are marked. Dinghies can be left at the town dock at no charge.
