Long regarded as the hub of recreational boating in Penobscot Bay, Camden Harbor comes by its renown honestly. There are scads of reasons to visit this bustling and scenic port nestled at the foot of Camden Hills.
Lyman-Morse Camden (207) 236-4378: Full-service facility offering haul-out, slips, moorings, fuel dock, marine supplies, showers, and laundry. The facility also features three on-site restaurants and a coffee bar.
Launch Ramp: A free, all-tide launch ramp can be found at the end of Steamboat Landing Road, near Lyman-Morse. Limited parking along street.
Anchorages: Anchoring anywhere in the immediate vicinity of Camden Harbor is difficult, as the prime spots are full of private moorings (anchoring in the inner harbor is prohibited). One option is along the west side of Curtis Island, although the area is exposed to open water.

Provisions: French & Brawn (207) 236-3361: Small but well-stocked market and deli with wide assortment of meats and seafood. Very close to the town landing. Delivery available.
Hannafords (207) 236-8577: Large grocery store and pharmacy about a mile from the town landing.
Things To Do: Camden Public Library (207) 236-3440: This splendid library also serves as a social-cultural center for the town’s full-time residents. Built in 1928, it was expanded in 1996, creating among other things a huge children’s reading room with over 14,000 books and other materials.
Camden Harbor Park & Amphitheatre (207) 236-3440: Designed in 1931 by John Olmsted and Frederick Olmsted Jr. (sons of Frederick Law Olmsted), Camden Harbor Park’s gentle slopes were skillfully land-scaped and sculpted to provide the best views of the water. The park hosts picnics, craft fairs, weddings, free concerts, festivals, and theater productions.
Camden Hills State Park (207) 236-3109: Take an easy hike to the top of Mount Battie inside Camden Hills State Park for spectacular views of Camden Harbor and Penobscot Bay. The trailhead is a short walk from the harbor. The park also offers camping, bike paths, and more.
