Even among the many picturesque harbors that make up Maine’s legendary coastline, Boothbay Harbor stands out for being one of the best boating destinations not only in Maine, but in the entire Northeast.

Of course, the best boating destinations deserve the best marinas. That’s where Boothbay Harbor Marina comes in. The marina has been voted many times over by various publications as the best marina in Maine. Given its deep waters, convenient downtown location, full-service amenities, and spectacular scenery, it’s easy to see why.
Found along the protected inner harbor, Boothbay Harbor Marina offers a safe and convenient landing point for vessels cruising Midcoast Maine. From Tumbler Island and Spruce Point, boaters can follow the marked channel east toward the inner harbor. Boaters should keep red nun 8 to their starboard as they round into the basin. From there, boaters should head northeast and look for the spire on the church. A little north of the spire, boaters will enter the channel. From there, boaters should go past green buoy 9 and will then see an opening on their port side about 100 feet wide. The marina is located on the north side of the harbor, just before the footbridge. Boaters should turn to the north and head for the red shed with an American Flag and the blue Boothbay Harbor Marina sign.
The marina accommodates yachts up to roughly 130 feet and features about 40 slips, with 30- and 50-amp shore power, water hookups, Wi-Fi, and clean shoreside facilities including showers and laundry. Transient boaters will also appreciate the thoughtful extras: concierge-style service, ice, gated dock access, and even dockside dining options or delivery.
For visiting boaters, Boothbay Harbor Marina is just steps away from the area’s vibrant collection of shops, galleries, and restaurants. A footbridge connects the west side to the east side of the harbor and makes for a pleasant evening stroll.
Right next to the marina, Mine Oyster offers delicious Maine seafood and also features live music on most evenings in July and August. Another nearby restaurant is McSeagull’s, which offers local seafood and American dishes to go along with a beautiful waterfront view of the harbor.
