Date Announced For 2026 Monomoy Shootout

August might be a long way off, but anglers can now at least pencil in the date that month for one of Cape Cod’s most exciting fishing tournaments.

North Chatham Outfitters—the organizers of the annual Monomoy Shootout fishing tournament—recently announced the 2026 Shootout will take place on August 14.

The event takes place in Chatham, Massachusetts. Participating anglers hunt striped bass, blue fish, black sea bass, and bluefin tuna while raising money for the Lillylulu Foundation, an organization that benefits Type One Diabetes research.

The tournament starts with a captains dinner and a review of the rules at The Red Nun Bar & Grill on the evening of August 13. The fishing action begins the next morning.

Afterwards, organizers will host a party with prizes and awards at the Outermost Harbor Marina.
