No fishing license? No problem!
Maine will host two Free Fishing Weekends in the coming months, allowing anyone to fish in the state for free.
The first Free Fishing Weekend will take place February 14 and 15, 2026. The next Free Fishing Weekend will be May 30 and 31, 2026.
During these weekends, anyone can fish in the state without a fishing license. All other laws and regulations apply.
These free weekends represent a great opportunity to introduce friends, neighbors, and family members to fishing.
