RI Hosts Women In Sailing Conference

Women will take the helm in late April at a Rhode Island sailing conference dedicated to teaching women sailing skills and knowledge.

The Narragansett Sailing and Boating School at Cove Haven Marina in Barrington, Rhode Island is hosting the Women in Sailing Conference on Saturday, April 25.

The event is a full day dedicated to empowering women on the water. Participants will take part in a series of workshops and on-the-water experiences designed to improve sailing skill and knowledge in a supportive environment.

Sessions will include such topics as docking techniques, rigging, navigation fundamentals, marine diesel basics, boat electrical systems, and short sailing practice on Narragansett Bay. Participants will rotate in small groups through 1.5-hour sessions, choosing topics that interest them most.

The conference also provides an opportunity to meet fellow sailors from around the region, exchange experiences, and network during a community lunch.
