
Newport Harbor to Host Sail Newport Youth Challenge Regatta June 6-7
May 26, 2026One of the most anticipated events of America’s 250th anniversary celebration is sailing into Boston Harbor this summer.
From July 11–16, Sail Boston 2026 will bring an international fleet of tall ships and naval vessels from more than 25 countries to Boston as part of the global Sail250 celebration. The multi-day event will feature dockside tours, maritime festivities, and the spectacular Parade of Sail, the signature kickoff event that marks the arrival of dozens of ships into the harbor.
For visitors looking to experience the event beyond the shoreline, Captain John Boats is offering several ways to get out on the water and enjoy front-row views of the action.
The Parade of Sail Cruise gives guests an exclusive opportunity to witness the dramatic maritime procession as tall ships and military vessels make their way into Boston Harbor. Expected to feature more than 60 ships from around the world, the event is shaping up to be one of the largest tall ship gatherings Boston has hosted in decades.
Captain John Boats will also offer narrated Tall Ship Excursions, allowing passengers to cruise historic Boston Harbor while enjoying close-up views of these impressive vessels.
