The U.S. Coast Guard has officially launched its 2026 National Recreational Boating Safety Survey, in March aimed at gathering information from boaters across the country to help improve boating safety programs, education efforts, and future regulations.
The survey collects anonymous feedback on boating activity, safety equipment usage, accident prevention, and overall recreational boating trends. Coast Guard officials say the information plays an important role in shaping federal and state boating safety initiatives and funding decisions.
With boating activity remaining strong throughout New England’s coastal waters, lakes, and rivers, officials are encouraging recreational boaters to participate if selected.
The Coast Guard noted that the survey helps provide a clearer picture of how Americans use their boats and how safety practices continue to evolve as more people return to the water each season.
